Education & background

Shuhail is completing an LLM at The University of Law (UK), and holds an LLB and an MBA in International Business. Before law, he spent fifteen years in engineering and commercial roles — from tool and product design to leading contracts and commercial management on high-value engineering and construction projects across the UAE, Oman, and India, where he grew a business line from USD 7.2m to USD 17m.

That background gives him an unusual fluency in the technical detail behind construction, real estate, and technology disputes — and in the commercial drivers that decide how they are best resolved.

Areas of focus

Arbitration & disputes. DIAC and international arbitration, enforcement of foreign awards under the New York Convention, and high-stakes litigation before the Dubai, DIFC and ADGM courts — with real strength in enforcement, asset recovery, and multi-jurisdictional claims.

Real estate & construction. Off-plan, RERA, and developer–investor matters, jointly owned property, and construction contracts and claims — read through an engineer's understanding of how projects are actually built.

Corporate, M&A & regulatory. Corporate structuring, mergers and post-merger integration across large multi-entity groups, and white-collar and regulatory enforcement.

Representative matters

  • 01Advised a major UAE developer on a complex post-merger integration spanning 100+ entities — aligning legal, operational, and governance workstreams while preserving commercial value.
  • 02Acted in the recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitral award under the New York Convention, including a jurisdictional challenge and set-aside application.
  • 03Represented a developer in an off-plan / RERA dispute with investors, combining regulatory strategy with settlement negotiation.
  • 04Led enforcement and asset-recovery strategy in a high-value, multi-jurisdictional commercial claim.
  • 05Advised owners' associations and asset managers on jointly owned property, service-charge recovery, and governance in large-scale developments.
